KNOWING your business is more important than WORKING your business.
May 20, 2020
Taking time to understand every aspect of your business as it grows and changes is the most important part of being in business. While having a great product or service is required for business success, it's not enough.
Starting with the 10 points below, get to know the business of your business by ascertaining and understanding:
1) whether you actually have a company, hobby or just a product or service;
2) the business you are in;
3) the products and/or services your company provides and how they perform;
4) your unique selling proposition (USP) and how it benefits your customers;
5) who and where your customers are;
6) how to promote your products/services to acquire new customers;
7) how your products and/or services are manufactured/produced;
8) KNOW YOUR NUMBERS!;
9) the metrics that determine your business success; and
10) your overall company goals and objectives and how you will attain them.
As you work in your business daily, make sure you have the answers to all questions that a potential customer might ask. People want to do business with people who know their business. Additionally, knowing your business (and its industry) can assist in meeting the needs of your customer. There are times when customers depend on its seller to educate them about the product/service, its associated industry, as well as, provide them with other information such as trends and advances that will give them the best and unique buying experience.
